Mr Demissie Edema was born in Gurachu Jeldo Kebele in Kercha Woreda of Guji Zone. There, he grew up on his parent’s coffee farm of 117 hectares. Demissie’s team provides quality and conservationist training to a growing community of farmers. With this, new locales of ideal conditions have been identified; new stations have been established to provide the necessary infrastructure and support. These ‘out-growers’ also receive 70% of the exporting business’ profits as second payments to reward the high standards for the group. Proving that specialty coffee production can make a community thrive.
